  • Title: Quail Forever Mission & Model
Descriptive info: National Conservation Leadership with Local Wildlife Habitat Results.. Quail Forever: The Habitat Organization.. Quail Forever is dedicated to the conservation of quail, pheasants and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs.. A Unique Model.. At the heart of Quail Forever is the unique grassroots system of fundraising and project development that allows members to see the direct result of their contributions.. Quail Forever, Pheasants Forever's sister organization, empower.. county and local chapters.. with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent - the only national conservation organization that operates through this truly grassroots structure.. As a result, chapter volunteers are able to see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy.. Quail Forever.. Pheasants Forever launched Quail Forever in August of 2005 to address the continuing loss of habitat suitable for quail and the subsequent quail population decline.. Bobwhite population losses over the last 25 years range from 60 to 90 percent across the country.. The reason for the quail population plunge is simple - massive losses of habitat suitable for quail.. There are five major factors leading to the losses of quail habitat; intensified farming and forestry practices, succession of grassland ecosystems to forests, overwhelming presence of exotic grasses like fescue that choke out wildlife, and urban sprawl.. A Diverse Membership.. Quail Forever and Pheasants Forever members are a diversified group of hunters, non-hunters, farmers, ranchers, landowners, conservation enthusiasts and wildlife officials.. Quail Forever is for those who want to make a difference for wildlife by creating habitat, restoring wetlands and protecting prairies.. !.. Local Quail Forever Chapters.. There are more than 100 Quail Forever chapters  ...   strong framework of federal conservation programs.. Authority for critical conservation programs, such as the Conservation and Wetlands Reserve Program, is granted by the U.. Congress in the Federal Farm Bill's Conservation Title.. In total, federal farm conservation programs allow us to manage nearly 50 million acres for wildlife habitat.. Habitat Conservation Education.. - Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have developed programs and materials that promote education and public awareness, including its Ringnecks and Whistlers youth programs and the Leopold Education Project.. Our Companies.. Habitat Forever.. - Habitat Forever, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pheasants Forever, Inc.. Habitat Forever specialists are available for hire to complete habitat projects or maintain existing habitat in many areas of the country.. Our habitat teams are equipped with tractors, trailers, seed drills, tree planters, watering and fire management equipment, mowers and more.. Each team is run by an experienced habitat specialist that can help you plan your project, determine if you qualify for federal or state cost share programs, plant and manage it in order to maximize wildlife potential.. Forever Land Trust.. - The Forever Land Trust functions as the property management wing of PF, giving PF the ability to accept and permanently protect donations of property and conservation easements.. The Future of Wildlife Habitat Conservation.. Although we're extremely proud of the work we have accomplished, we realize that when your work is conservation, the work is never-ending.. We invite you to join in our quest to ensure a country rich in natural resources and long on people willing to work to preserve them.. After all, natural resources - pheasants, quail, and the land, air and water on which they live - are our greatest resources.. Quail Forever Toll Free - 1(866) 457-8245.. • Title: Quail Forever Chapters
Descriptive info: When Pheasants Forever unleashed Quail Forever, the Board of Directors believed the simple and yet revolutionary concept that separated Pheasants Forever from any other conservation organizations would work for another non-migratory bird, the Bobwhite quail.. Quail Forever will use the same system of county chapters whereby 100% of the net funds raised by chapters remains at the local level.. This provides tremendous incentive to raise money because people can see the direct results of their contributions.. Each Quail Forever chapter maintains local control over its funds and establishes its own habitat and education programs, customized to meet the needs of and to benefit the local area.. Quail Forever, is in its first couple of months and has shown great promise with chapters starting up across the country.. One of the primary benefits of belonging to Quail Forever is the opportunity for camaraderie with other people concerned about maintaining and rebuilding the proper habitat for quail and other wildlife in your area.. Join an Existing Chapter.. When you join an.. existing Quail Forever chapter.. , you have the opportunity to establish wildlife habitat in your area, attend meetings and participate in fundraising activities.. Chapters usually meet once a month to socialize about hunting, dogs and other common interests - as well as to discuss fundraising events, habitat restoration projects and conservation issues.. The most successful fundraising event for Quail Forever chapters is the annual banquet, which features a lively evening of dinner and raffles and auctions for guns, art work, pheasant-related gift items and clothing..
